Opsutan, also referred to as macitentan 10 mg tablet or macitentan generic, is a medication that belongs to the class of endothelin receptor antagonists (ERA). Macitentan 10mg Side Effects:

Macitentan can lead to severe side effects, which include:

• Significant birth defects. Refer to "What is the most crucial information I should know about MACITENTAN?"
• Certain medicines similar to MACITENTAN can cause liver damage. Your healthcare provider must conduct blood tests to assess your liver function before initiating MACITENTAN. If you experience any of the following liver problem symptoms while on the medication, inform your healthcare provider:
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes
  • Pain in the upper right abdomen
  • Dark urine
  • Exhaustion
  • Fever
  • Loss of appetite
  • Itching
• Fluid accumulation can occur a few weeks after commencing MACITENTAN. If you experience unusual weight gain or swelling of your legs or ankles, notify your healthcare provider immediately. They will look for the cause of fluid retention.
• During MACITENTAN therapy, low red blood cell levels (anemia) may occur, primarily in the initial weeks after initiating therapy. In rare cases, blood transfusions may be necessary. Your healthcare provider will conduct blood tests to evaluate your red blood cells before starting MACITENTAN, and they may need to conduct these tests throughout treatment.
• MACITENTAN, as well as other medications similar to it, may decrease sperm counts in men who take these drugs. A low sperm count may affect a man's ability to father a child. If your ability to have children is crucial to you, inform your healthcare provider. The most common side effects of MACITENTAN are:
• Nasal congestion or sore throat
• Irritation of the airways (bronchitis)
• Headache
• Flu
